Independence Day Blowout
Minden, LA - June 30, 2009 Champion Park Speedway (CPS) will present an Independence Day Blowout on Saturday, July 4. The O'Reilly Southern United Professional Racing (SUPR) late models will be at CPS for their third event of the season. The SUPR late model series will race at LoneStar Speedway on Friday night and then travel to CPS for the July 4 event. The late model feature event will be 50 laps to win the $2500 pay out.
During intermission a firework display will take place. Each year the track owners, Roger & Annette Walker, set up a spectacular firework display in honor of the Independence Day holiday.
CPS would like to congratulate Kyle Cummings of Sibley for his feature win in the Southern Hot Stock Showdown. Cummings took the lead early in the race to dominate the $2000 to win race that was sponsored by AD Signs of Minden. Other winners from Saturday, June 27 include Factory Stock feature winner, Cody Myers of Bossier City; Limited Modified feature winner Josh Baucom of Benton; and Modified feature winner Shannon Farrar of Downsville, LA.
