Champion Park to Crown 2008 OMT Champion

With such a successful 2007 tour the Outlaw Modified Tour (OMT) is expanding to 8 tracks in 2008. The OMT was created last year through 4 track promoters including Roger Walker of CPS. Four modified races each paying $1000 to win with a four race $5000 point fund made up the series. In 2008 the tour has added four additional tracks and the point fund increased to $11,500. The point fund will be distributed to the top twenty in points at the end of the eight-race series. To be eligible for the points fund the driver MUST compete in at least six of the eight events.

The $1000 to win race event kicks off on Friday, May 16 at 67 Texarkana Speedway. The following night the OMT will be at Arkansas Motor Speedway outside of Nashville, AR. Arkansas Motor Speedway is one of the newly added tracks to the OMT.

The third race will be held in Many, LA at Sabine Motor Speedway on Friday, June 13. The OMT heads north the following night to Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, LA.

Texas DIRT Motorplex will host the fifth OMT race on Saturday, June 28. DIRT is located in Tyler, TX and was one of the original tracks in the OMT.

On Friday, July 11 the OMT will make it’s first apperance at Dixie Speedway in Farmerville, LA. The next night the OMT will head over to Fast Trax Speedway in Chatham, LA for the seventh event in the tour.

Champion Park Speedway will then crown the OMT Champion on Saturday, July 26. Last year over 46 modifieds battled it out for the first stop in the OMT. CPS is looking forward to great action packed night of racing with the OMT and regular classes racing that night.
